Elegant, luxury business card design for our design agency

About the designs

We deliver high-aesthetic graphic design for businesses that reinforce their visual identity (or branding). However, sometimes it’s easy to neglect ourselves! I’m sure a lot of small business owners can identify with the old dilemma: doing client work vs. working on your own business.

Anyway, by fun coincidence, we won a competition run by Rob from Cookie, a local printer in Melbourne, just south of Derby (not Oz!). With the lead up to Christmas, it was a good incentive to get a set of business cards, postcards and flyers printed - for free!

Rob picks up the amusing story below, in which we visited him in Melbourne, as we are committed to building authentic relationships with local suppliers who meld with our approach to visual aesthetics.

You can also browse our new designs for our collateral, which we’ve transferred from our Instagram feed where we first featured them.

What Rob said

Rob from Cookie 0:00

Hello everyone, you might remember a couple of months ago I actually did a giveaway for hitting 1,000 followers. Loads of you entered it was amazing.

0:08 And I did the results and Wildings Studio won, and it was really nice because they actually came over, had look at the setup, had look at the office which, granted, was freezing and messy.

0:20 But yeah, it was lovely to meet them and honestly they're really nice couple and they produce some amazing work.

0:26 And, yeah, so they placed the order. Artwork was amazing. I got a bit carried away. I said yeah, let's just do everything ColorPlan [now part of GF Smith].

0:34 Let's just do everything ColorPlan. So ColorPlan business cards, some nice 700g ones and also 700g postcards as well. Greeting cards really nice texted stuff.

0:44 And they've been delivered. They look amazing. They've come out so well. Their artwork was just brilliant.

0:50 And they've been sharing it today, so I thought why not? I will share their posts on here right now.

0:56 Let me know what you think!

Production notes

  • We incorporated professional photos from our recent shoot with The Gribbons Photography

  • When we say to people that sharp, in-context videos lift a website or project, this is exactly why we say it - the brand impact is just massive when frame, colour and mood come together

  • The designs draw on our focus on colour psychology, so the colours are carefully chosen to underline our brand signals (luxury, elegant, professional, trustworthy)

  • ColorPlan is the bomb! It’s more expensive than an internet-only, print on-demand service, but if your brand relies on tangible quality, you can beat it

What they said

Rob was a star and we are already exploring how we can use him more for our print work, even if it is not ColorPlan! Here are his lovely words again:
