Playful, eclectic branding for a interior designer in London

Timothy James Interiors is an interior designer based in Richmond, London. Led by Tim, the practice provides interior architecture and interior design services for “owners of city pads, family homes and country piles who need help visualising the possibilities of their space to create cool, comfortable and contemporary homes”.

Tim was grappling with some big challenges in his interior design business: wanting to attract more high-end clients and stand out from the best interior designers in the industry; and reflect his desire to do things differently as well as see his own unique personality in his new branding.

Our overall approach was to bring Tim clarity and confidence as the business owner in his vision for his interior design brand; design a unique arty, colourful and luxurious aesthetic; plus put in place the foundations for future growth.

 The Brief

Tim discovered us via Abigail Reay’s interior architecture & design studio whose brand ‘sang’ to him in a way he had seldom experienced. Firstly, then, we helped him, as an interior designer, express his own unique style. We did this though a series of intimate, one-on-one online sessions which gave Tim the time and space to convey his deepest convictions and for us to pin down precisely the key elements of his brand strategy.

In this Brand Strategy phase, Tim’s face would light up as we talked about games rooms, custom pool tables and installing vintage arcade games with neon signs, pattern clashing and commissioned original artwork. We outworked these inspirations in his Brand Identity, bringing an element of play to his logo through the ‘ace of spades’ (symbolic of good luck), plus sinuous ribbon initials within the emblem.

Tim was fully focussed on marketing his interior design services, particularly via his website and Instagram, so we designed and put at Tim’s fingertips all the logos, brand assets and variations he might need. Not only that, but we fully visualised every potential application of Tim’s brand, to inspire him and capture his vision for where he might take his brand in future.

”A transformative experience. The result is extremely exciting and has exceeded our already high expectations. From a visual angle, Rach could not be more gifted. Redoing our branding has been such an invaluable exercise. Thank you to the brilliant Wildings; keep on doing what you do.”
